Ok - I have seen enough on here to try one small experiment(possibly leading to others).

I have an Onkyo 606 and Kef 2005.2 speakers currently with micro cable.The clarity of speech is not brilliant in movies and I could get a 3005 centre but before I do I would like to try upgrading the cable to just the centre to see if there is a difference,so I need a 1 metre length to try out .Suggestions of make for improvement. (playback for music/movies is Panny DMREX79.)

If it works,I may well do the fronts as well.

IMHO a good starting point would be QED Silver Anniversary, it's not that expensive but give great dynamics for the money

I have just upgraded from the QED Silver annivesairy to the Chord Silverscreen.

Wow, what a difference it makes!!!!

By the way, a mate of mine has just done the same with his cable, and replaced the centre speaker as you are suggesting.

He finds the bass integrates much better with movies, and the vocals better too.

if I do end up rewiring the fronts I would really want to do it with the same cable as the centre and the Chord is really too bulky so I have ordered the QED S.A.XT. for the centre and I will experiment.

I do hope I will be able to hear a difference.

(the money is irrelevant,just the principle.)
