Sorry for not being very clear.Maybe my english is to blame....

Based on previous posts recommendations (BIG THANKS) I decided to keep RS6 and I don`t regret it now .It would have been a big mistake to just let them go!

My actual plan is to replace NAD C325 with an amplifier from a superior class.Like I said , all started after auditioning a Primare I21.C325 BEE is not a bad amplifier but lacks, in my opinion, the finesse required to complement RS6.

Your suggestions are very welcome!

Options:

-Cambridge Audio 840A V2 (described as detailed but some consider it bright which could be a not very inspired solution for RS6)

-Naim Nait 5i (very popular in Romania but majority of users are using it with Spendor, ProAc which are totally different speakers.Described often as dynamic, detailed, not very linear and having a bright signature)

-Primare I21 (many of users consider as having a laid back character, with emphasis on mids and lows ,musical for long listening but not so dynamic)

-Arcam Diva A80 (some recommend as a good complement to bright speakers due to its extremely warm sound, others describe it as boring, with lack of punch for modern music)

-Roksan Kandy mkIII (again contradictory opinions, don`t know if it has a darker signature as some of the reviewers described or is a dynamic amplifier)

-Marantz PM7003 (numerous positive feedback, much cheaper than all others above, solid build, detailed but not very neutral amp)

All comments are based on what I read on different forums so please don`t blame me for putting wrong informations here.

Firstly I would agree that the C325BEE is not adequate for your speakers. Its a superb budget amp (I have one in my second system) but (as I found out when I changed to the MS Mezzo 2s) it works best with budget speakers rather than upgraded ones.

I'd be making a point of trying the following if I were you:

Creek Evolution 2 (the original was excellent and I'd expect the new one to be even better)

CA Azur 840A (Gerrardasnails uses this with RS6s and sings its praises very highly)

Thanks for your advice!

I was looking right now on a local, romanian hi-fi forum and, in a thread ,it is a long debate around a Creek A50iR.There are split opinions:cheap and poor electronics vs. very good for the money and excellent with good matching(e.g.:Epos M5,JMLab).

I will add the EVO to my list.

I know what I'm going to tell you a story that is very odd.

I have at home a pair of Monitor Audio silver RS6 that I like very much. When I decided to buy them after a demo my dealer told me he hadn't the color that I wanted. I brought for my home the speakers that I did demo, while I was waiting for a pair in cherry colour. The pair that I brought did sound very well and was very happy with it.

When my pair of MA RS6 in cherry colour arrived I couldn't believe, they didn't sound in the same way as the previous par that I had before, they sounded harsh. I thought it happened because they were brand new. After 3 weeks using it the sound didn't change a lot. Then I inverted the links position that connect the speaker terminails and they sounded like the pair that I had before. If I were you I would try this before anything.

Flatsound:kerio, are you running your speaker cables in single mode or biwire mode?

Single wire for the moment.

Are big differences on RS6 from this point of view ?

I was looking on the reviews and Creek becomes a very strong option. It seems to complement very well RS6, as it has a relaxed sound and good detail, but I haven`t heard too many good things about the build (some describing it as having cheap internal scheme).

Also, its headphone output is useful for me.

I don't think there is much benefit to biwiring these.

Replacing the bronze links with proper speaker wire jumpers (just cut 4-5cm pieces of cable and bare 0.6mm off each end - you will need 4) does help though!
