Thanks for the reply, I am going to watch 2 scenes from Star Trek again to consider the colour temperature. Then I am going to play with a film called The Fall. It has some absolutely stunning cinematography both in terms of location and framing as well as brilliant use of colour.
Good man, it's probably worth walking away and making a cuppa between viewing the two settings, switching directly can be a bit too much of a jump! Whatever you prefer is what's right anyway, regardless of what people like me say!
Max: I can't remember where you can change the "Shop" or "Home" settings as it's not obvious, only gets highlighted on first switch on... I'll try and look later and let you know before you embark on any adventures!

The option to change from store use is in the option menu scroll down to find "mode setting". You can then select "home use".

ive been reliably informed that the 590 has undefeatable edge enhancement that is abscent on the 350, which is apparently a good thing, all will become clear soon
well I have no idea what that means mate but it sounds serious🙂 Input lag on the 590 is 51ms not sure about the 350!! The blacks are supposed to be much better on this years LG plasmas phosphor trails supposed to be less than the pannys of this year!!
I hope it all goes well mate I have seen the set mate in currys nice and slim I do like the fact that it only has 2 hdmis to cut down the cost as most people who buy a set of that size will have an amp that will have many hdmi inputs!!

By the way max what happened with the panny did you get your full refund? and what did panny say about it all?

i assume the fault was with that specific set, i didnt really ask to be honest, once i was told i was being refunded, i was happy

I would have thought that if you had a couple of duff ones and it is not a design flaw then it was worth trying another as apart from the motion it was perfect

i bought the v20 as imo it was the best non 3dtv on sale, closest to the kuro, and it was, bar the motion issues i found on the two sets i had, it was awesome, but i had exchanged once, the goodwill of the store had been exausted, what would have happened if the third one wasnt satisfactory?
i just made a decision to go with the cheaper lg for a year, next spring ill be hunting down a v series pana from the 2011 range..
edit. i currently have no tv, i had a loan of a little 26in lcd, but i gave it back, at the moment its purely hifi in the max household

Max my friend, after being subjected to 3 hours of x-factor repeats on i player by the wife I can honestly say I envy you for having no tv. My Sony is one more Cowell remark away from taking a header out of the nearest window!
