is nonsense after telling here that specifications show nothing, what are you talking about?
wasn´t refering to the same but sensivety level in db´s and frequency response of the speaker,

or limit in lows and high´s , and you refer 1khertz at -3db´s , you have no clue about what was discussed ,read again and fetch a manual of some speakers you might have, to understand it ,

in the past stores would show speakers and amplifiers conected in today´s world you have gigantic offer in diferent material but you can´t se it in stores,

if everyone knows what is written in the specifications, no one would buy a diferent sounding speakers than what he thought when ordering it ,

it´s so simple that it even doesn´t make sense in conecting speakers to an amplifier in a store, if all are so well informed but what was said here was that specifications show nothing ,

so i could say, i don´t know what you want to say with your coment or how is it related?scrambled eggs instead of a thinking brain, too many trips to the woods when a teenager?
I didn't mention any of that.....
And less of your abuse if you please.

You've just put yourself on the ignore list. I have no interest in discussing my understanding of speaker specifications with someone who clearly has no idea. Especially someone who's going to be rude. I've designed and built my own speakers, so I'm pretty confident I know what the specs the OP provided do and don't say.

sorry, the reply to my comment were non sense to what i had comented as a big importance in what relates to speakers specifications first ,not worth looking at them, after , everybody knows what´s written there, so i think i should apolagise to everyone here ,only my reaction to a not making sense justification to what i wrotte trying to help some that don´t know what the specifications say, but i´m tired of getting negative comments to what i writte, again sorry but wasn´t you that made me wrotte that, i felt not respected after trying to help

Hi everyone.
Quite dynamic here.
After a full week of rest (far from music, business…) and a week as a summer break things are getting better.
At first I suggest anyone looking for speakers to consider this brand. Both design and philosophy are stunning. Please take a look, measures are available and feedbacks are really easy with the designer.
You won’t find it for other brands.

My room is quite inappropriate to music. I have added some stuffs to soften the ping-pong frequencies. I appears that the walls at the back of the speakers, the roof and walls are drywalls. One wall is made of drywall with too far with books and the other wall has two French doors plus a large sliding glass door. What to expect with these features ?

At low volume, the sound is not really detailed and it’s not pleasant because of the room.
At higher volume, the sound is really good whatever the record or track (I ditched Tidal for Qobuz).

This afternoon was the first real afternoon after a good rest and time to listen with no hurry. It was really great.
I wish you pleasant listening sessions.

To the question :

What to understand before floorstanding speakers purchase?

Now, I know : your room!

Pure act of serendipity tonight. While I was disposing speakers: previous ones, Recital Audio ones and another pair of speakers (long story to tell), I was a bit charmed by the details and basses. I was a bit surprised myself.

I removed all the FS speakers to keep only the third pair of ProAc 2.5. Quite good sound with a lot of bass but missing details I had previously.

I swapped with the Recital Audio alone in the middle of nothing (except my living room furnitures everyone know) and found out what I was annoyed with.

I added just the 2 other pairs of FS speakers and... Super sharp bass, details as usual, no more invasive sound, no more oppressive sound. I made an ugly disposal with a blanket and add roller blinds and moved the mirror in the back of the room straight in front of the speakers.

I was that sure about the possibilities of the RA, but know I know and they are huge!

A wise man told me someday not to spend a penny before improving the room. I will thank him when I listen the music.

Sometimes life is sweet and kind enough to meet nice people. I did with the owner of the ProAc. A real gentleman with a living room dedicated to music. He has improved each detail from the walls, to the lampshade, his sofa, pictures...

I know what to focus on. Not where to start, but I could not imagine such a difference just with moving things & adding stuffs.

I hate the macho "WAF" expression, because I am particularly attentive and sensitive to the design, layout, and decoration in my apartment. So I will consider it as much as hifi.

Thanks, so many thanks to each of you, thanks to the wise guy advising me about the room, thanks to the ProAc gentleman and most of all, thanks and congratulation to Alexandre Chamagne for his result on Illumine speakers! They are my guest for years to come in the living.
