Dear All

I just came from an audition of KEF BLADE.... hmmmm(not to buy though )

Once you hear these speakers then the rest are less mediocratic.....

The amp was a Unison Research - UNICO SECONDO. In a week will audition again with a KRELL amp.

I have also audition FOCAL 836V (Yamaha amp-sorry do not know type but it was one of the expencier ones). Very Good bass, effortless mids and highs....

Well, they are in a way, and they're also, not...

In many ways, they don't immediately impress a lot of people, because they're not doing anything they shouldn't do, and its things that speakers shouldn't do that usually draws people to them. I think its very easy to give them a quick listen and say there's nothing special to them (easily done with any speaker), but once you've gotten used to them, they sort of spoil things for you regarding listen to other speakers! I've always been more aware of other speaker's inabilities to produce a properly cohesive sound regarding the seperate drivers after getting used to the UniQ design, but now hear when a speaker's cabinet is adding its own influence to the proceedings, basically because the Blade's cabinet isn't really doing anything.

As far as producing a sound where you're not aware of the six drivers in each cabinet goes, I think they make many other (sometimes more expensive) loudspeakers redundant...

I agree with the UniQ design. After listening to both LS50 and R700 (AND BLADE ofcourse :dance: ), it is hard for me to hear other speakers with teweeter and midrange speakers .. apart.. i do not know if I am too prejudice.....

The same day as BLADE audition, I heard FOCAL 836V (thank god before hearing BLADE), and they sounded very nice and deep.... but not concetrated sound as the UniQ effect....
