How do you rate these two against each other for music?
I've seen the Q Acoustics for £411 and the KEF's at £545 - in black.
I've no doubt they will both sound fantastic with movies, it's their musical capabilities that is bothering me.
Any help, can't get in to demo with my amp, so NEED some advice.
Just thought i'd ask seening as they are more closely priced than when reviewed.

From what i have learnt over the past few weeks ive been on these forums is that traditional box speakers i.e Q Acoustics 1010i are far supperior than style speakers and given the fact that the Q Acoustics 1010i are voted the best speakers under 750 should tell you alot.

hope this helps.

Lifestyle speakers generally don't perform as well with music as traditional speakers. That said, the 2005's are no slouch when it comes to films. I demonstrated an Onkyo 606 with the 2005's yesterday, as I have done may times before, and the combination seems to work really well. And that was only with the DVD of Toy Story! Yes, the music side of he package won't quite be as good, but it's all down to your priorities - many people are quite happy with the audio quality of today's sub/sat systems.

Hi Rock man,

I have the Q Acoustics 1010i package, and my friend has the KEF's. Even he admits mine sounds better with music, and he has an amp that cost twice the price. (mine is onkyo 606, his is Denon AVR 2807)

Saying that, and if you have the room and budget, this is even better!!!

http://www.exceptional-av.co.uk/product.php?fdProductId=119

That package can also be made up at quantum electronics for less. (£577-ish)

Hope that helps.....

Thanks for the info, but due to room layout, window, radiator ect ect, i have no choice but to go for small standmounts, as one of them will have to be sited either in the bay window which is immediately left and behind the TV, which - just to make matters worse - has a radiator below it or on a stand to the left of the TV, so a floorstander will have to be almost touching the rad' , with a standmount on a stand it will be(just) out of harms way from the rad' , even better if i can pursuade the Mrs to have it in the bay window - don't know how that will effect the acoustics though?
Any thoughts?

Really has to 50/50, I listen to alot of music, but the Mrs wants to go HT, and that means getting rid of my beloved B&W's and 'replace them with something smaller', so I'm in a catch 22 situation, got to please the Mrs on both counts - HT speakers that are small - but must sound good to me with stereo, albeit 2.1.
Tried to pusuade her to go for the B&W 5.1 package - beaten down on"we're not paying that for some speakers" and "they are too big to have 3 more of them" - don't forget the sub darling!!!!!
HELP!!!!!!

Dunno about the Q Acoustics but the Kefs are brill with films I am not so bothered with Music as I listen to all I want in the car B&O system in the Audi is first class like being in the concert hall on a live album. The only problem I have with the Kef 2005 package is the Center Speaker which I upgraded to the Kef 3005SE Center Speaker now its fine and as said the Kefs really do work well with the Onkyo 606

Fantastic - only selling to keep the Mrs happy, she won't allow a full 5.1 B&W package. :-(
