I have a fairly recognisable budget system: cambridge audio 540V2 amp, 640V2 CD player, Azur interconnect, Mordaunt Short 902i speakers and Chord Co Carnival Silver Biwire cable and Soundstyle Z2 stands. The sound is very good, but I was hoping for more punch from it. My room is a slightly odd shape but basically 3.5x3.5m. Is it worth getting better standmount speakers (up to £400)? Or will it be a case that to achieve this I need to upgrade the whole system in the future.
Is upgrading my speakers the answer?

Cambridge audio amp is not know for being puncy kinnna amp so I would look at other option out there. I am not up to date with £400 range of amp but I known that the Exposure 2010 will punch a hole through your head for less than £350!....hunt them down, ex-demo or 2nd hand on internet and I am sure you will be a happy man
