Hi!I need help!

I have Audiolab 8200CD and Monitor Audio Silver RX6.

I try integrated amplifiers with this setup-Marantz PM KI,NAD 356BEE,Rotel RA-12.

Marantz and NAD very bad sound for me!Rotel-not ideal!

What a ideal integrated amplifier for RX6?Maybe Audiolab 8200A or Arcam a19?Or other (in this price)?

What amp did the RX6s sound good with when you first heard them at the shop?

I just sold my RX6's as they were too bright with my Nait XS. They're great speakers but definately need smooth amplification, maybe Musical Fidelity. I have heard them with the Audiolab 8200a and they sounded OK.

I think your original dem and experiences so far tell you everything you need to.

The RX6s are big exuberent speakers that are at their best when driven and controlled by some fairly serious amplification. With budget amps they can sound bright, boomy and generally unruly.

Buy a better amplifier than the ones you are considering.

Plastic Penguin had success driving his RS6s with Leema amplification. Maybe worth exploring the 2nd hand market to get the quality of amplification your speakers need.

I'd steer clear of the Arcam A19. It is not very different to the A18 I had briefly and that was hopeless at controlling anything other than the easiest of speakers.

50A is not bright. It's a bit on the warm side of neutral. I replaced my as500 because it was just too bright for my Dali's and the Creek did the job nicely.

Indeed. They sounded very balanced with entry-level Arcams, only until you want to crank them up then the low powered Arcams start to show their colours. Certainly Arcam... A38. Or Creek Evo and Roksan Kandy K2 as a minimum.

Yes the Leema Pulse, contrary to the reviews, really grips the HF and LFs.

I bet you'll get the 50a once your hear it :)

I think it will match really well with your MA's.

If you want bigger power then the destiny 2 should certainly do it for you also. Altough at a much higher cost.

no no no!

first- very big price amplifier at the shop :)

Why didn't you ask the shop assistant to hear the speakers with an amplifier you could afford?.

I actually think the more important question here is, 'Did the shop assistant not explore with you what amplification you would be using or planning to buy?'

Firstly he/she has failed to provide the 'specialist' service to the customer and, secondly, if they were doing their job (in the best interests of the customer and the employer) they would have tried to sell you an appropriate amplifier with the speakers.

I have the MA RX6 with the Rotel RA12, no issues here. OP why is this not "ideal"?

Anyone care to enlighten me why this is not a recommended option?

It can be a number of things that make a system unbalanced: Room acoustics, inadequate amplification....

The problem with Monitor Audio speakers, albeit I'm a huge fan, is they can be fussy when it comes to amps, due, in the main, to the metal domed tweeter.

My room is well damped and I've heard Rotel (RA-06) and the presentation was fast and detailed but just didn't hang together right. Likewise with Audiolab: They produce a very crisp sound, and that goes against the crisp note of the MAs. So in turn, the two together can sound a little sterile.

Swap either Rotel or Audiolab with Creek or Arcam amplification and the balanced gains parity.

MAs do flourish with an amp that has a smooth midrange.

+1

PP is right about this, and also the Arcam would be a great match with the MA's
