I Need an expert !! DVD Picture not good on new LE37R87BD

I have just bought a new Samsung LE37R87BDX TV......had it mounted to the wall and connected up my 4yr old JVC Home cinema (TH ??)......

When watching DVD's the picture ever so slightly distorts....as if the tv is slightly ahead of the dvd or vice a versa......the dvd is connected by S Video, and component video connection.

Is the bad picture due to the age of my DVD player ??

If so, can anyone recommend a decent dvd player for less than £100....would prefer multizone !!

I would save up an extra 70 quid and buy a Toshiba HD E1 high def dvd player - will give a great picture for normal dvds but will blow you away should you venture into the world of HD DVDs
