Bryston 28BSST2's (2 x 42kg) = 84.0kg

Behringer A500 = 8.8kg

Difference in SQ between the two amps is audible but not massive so I would say that the two are most definitely not related.

Yes good point. Class D amplifiers (or class D hybrids) don't need to be heavy to be good.

Neither do class AB amplifiers if they also have switch mode power supplies.
