Hi Folks

I'm wanting to build a system for my back room. As I live in a semi-detached, the system in my living room is never played particularly loud as one of the walls adjoins the neighbour's living room (I don't really know why i bother keeping it quiet- she's deaf). In my back room which is the other side of the house I want to build the ultimate hooligan system that is rude, aggressive, but very very fun played loud.

I want to build it up slowly so I'm starting with the Amp / Speakers which I will run my sonos into for now. I'll add a CD player at a later date.

What is the most yobbish and exciting combination (while still quality) you can suggest? to a budget of around £1300

Hi - let's start with Roksan Kandy LIII which has just been replaced by a new version. You can pick one up for around £450 or thereabouts. The speakers I would pick for that amp and loves being played loud are B&W 684's floorstanders. . .

That combo should leave some money for decent speaker cables, if applicable.

What a system that would be!

This is fun!

Creek Evo (£400ish) - looks elegant but 170w into 4 ohms! It is accurate and you get very tight bass and it obviously goes loud. Monitor Audio RS6 - ex demo circa £500 and Pioneer PD-D6-J (£330). Now that would sound loud but great. I should know, I had it for about an hour.

Yes I think that Musical Fidelity is the best for aural-assault. The RS6's can really wail, so too the ....(obligatory) Rainmakers.

what sort of hooligan? the loud phone playing ones, or the kick your head in type? lol

Sounds to me like the old RTL4's are needed. Pair of 8s in a transmission line. Anything smaller is just walkman annoyance lol. £450 in the day iirc, so perhaps £700 now if they still existed.

how about some 1210's and a couple of rotels to drive them. Do it propperly lol

Be warned, my deaf neighbour came back one lunch. He knew it was loud because his radiator was rattling. Its not allways a free ride lol
