Thought I'd come and see what my learned friends made of the Apple sneak preview of the HomePod....

...but nothing! And nothing on the AVI forum either!

Baby B&O smart speakers which might sound OK, but likely be somewhat lacking the bass dept. Also a little confused as to how they are powered.

Electricity probably *biggrin* ... from some photos e.g. The Verge they appear to be mains powered. I doubt they will be battery powered for the simple reason they are meant to be on 24/7.

I probably shouldn't be surprised that the blurb leading up to the annoucement of the HomePods completely ignored Apple's previous failed attempt to get a foot in the door of the home audio market: the iPod HiFi
