Help!! With av amp source switching....

Is there an automatic way of having a yamaha amp switch back to av4 (to pass video from sky box to TV when on stand by) from HDMI 1 after watching bluray?

currently, I have to remember to manually switch......which is a pain, as I forget, and then the wife try's to watch tv and gets no picture...

Is my only option to not run the video through the amp?

I currently have the same problem with my Yamaha rx-a1020 - running a DVD player through component /coax 1, tv box via HDMI 1/ optical coax 1 ( hdmi takes priority so I have to switch it off to watch DVD) on AV1.

XBOX ran via HDMI 2 - AV2/optical 2 which I have to switch via the Amps remote and yes my wife is confused but refuses to listen to me when I try to explain it all to her might have to ask a complete stranger to explain it all at least she'd listen to them.

alternative is to bypass the amps and plug directly into the TV, most devices dual output it may be worth looking through your amps manual. thats what i'll do once a get a moment.
