Finally worked out how to create a .jpg from a .heic image on this iPhone.

Anyway this picture explains things better than I can. The upper black speaker socket now has no plastic end bit for the internal pin. The red one next to it does.

And yes, it’s BFA connectors on the end of the speaker wire.
Won't the plastic piece push back onto the stump?....not that there's any harm in it staying like that.

I've got a feeling they're not actually BFA plugs fitted to your cable.
They may be the hollow pin (zig zag split) type -and they obviously make contact but BFA plugs are slightly wider and are not hard to push in - so would not have caused the plastic piece to detach.

Did you look for the 4 BFA plugs that Cyrus supply with new amps?

Yes, I noticed in the Cyrus manual I posted a link to above doesn’t actually state to use BFA. It says use the supplied, and BFA also fit! Very curious.

Sorry for not updating!! Thanks to everyone for their help.

Yes I’ve got it all working. Those plus were a real pain but once I was sure of what I was doing it was fine. They were set really tight so I widened them out a little so the had the width to go over the plastic ends. Doesn’t seem like the best system in the world, but it’s done now and working so all good.

I’m loving the sound. So glad I auditioned all the kit to get what I liked best. I’ve been playing records all day. It’s amazing that previously seemingly pedestrian songs sound fantastic now!

I’ve stuck a photo of the plugs below. The black one has been widened out a bit so it actually fits the back of the amp. I hadn’t widened the red one yet (but did obviously).

I think they’re what I know as Z plugs. The concept seems to be that they fit your safety shield compact sockets, and also fit more conventional banana sockets. It seems like that aim isn’t universally achieved!

The main thing is you have a system you’re delighted with!

I’m a bit of a dunce with jacks/plugs, so I’m sure I would get used to using them after a while. But yeah, they do seem all uses master of none kinda plugs!

They are what I thought they were going to be - and they are not BFA plugs.
When you bend those out, they don't widen uniformly to the shape of a BFA plug....part of the contact will remain too narrow (and some of it could be wider than ideal).

You may have missed the previous couple of times I've asked, so I will ask again:
Did you look for the plugs that Cyrus supply with your amp?

With the correct plugs fitted to your cable you could plug / unplug easily, with no risk of damage in future.
But if you're happy as you are, fair enough, end of story 👍

Yes, completely the wrong type of speaker cable connectors for Cyrus amplifiers.
