? Just say it Good or bad
Got my knickers in a twist and thought we were talking about Hegel amps, hence redaction...
Your knickers untwisted I was also talking about amps, originally But it changed to dacs
I was just going to point out that Hegel amplifiers, with all that ability they have for stopping LF driver excursions on a proverbial 6 pence, might sound a bit thin for some folk. Especially in combination with a sealed cabinet for example where the air mass adds mechanical damping to the amp’s electrical damping. Just a thought, although I must admit to having no first hand experience in this theoretical system setup... *pardon*
In theory with certain hifi terms conjures images I understand
But in reality I've found it far from the reality as my sealed atc's were amazing in this regard.
Blue my Kef r700 easily I wrote a thread about it
Of course you have never experienced any such issues with the Hegel sound signature. Your audio reproduction preference tend towards an accurate, controlled, dynamic and analytical presentation. Your inventory of past, present, future and dream hifi acquisitions reads like a home recording studio shopping list. ATC, Benchmark, Hegel etc. etc. The catalogue is clearly defined and it is patently obvious that you know what sound you like and know what equipment is going to give it to you.
Plenty of hifi enthusiasts would find your idea of audio nirvana a difficult listen, as you would probably consider sound their’s bloated and overly warm. All I am saying is that control and attack, which I (think) know you like is not everybody’s cup of tea, and that for technical reasons Hegel amps will lean towards such a sound signature.
