Is it at all possible that the show environment was a 'step too far'?
A perfect example.

Think of it this way. At somewhere like the Bristol Show, you have six floors of rooms full of electronics (on top of what is already switched used on a day to day basis). How many products being used at the same time? How can that not have an effect on the mains in that building? I would guess that this would be the perfect sort of place to show the benefits of mains regeneration units...

I'm not saying mains products are a necessity or that any given system will sound rubbish without them, but in certain situations they will have their benefits.

It's the principle not the price of the product. It doesn't matter if it's a £20 CD of test tones which claims to give your HiFi an orgasm, or a £3130 DDE-1, which to be fair to Russ Andrews, he doesn't actually claim does anything at all whatsoever. He can't make any claims about it or Trading Standards would roast his balls and present them to him on a plate.
He did, they did, so now he doesn't claim anything at all.

A lot of high freq noise is airborne - it has nothing to do with whats plugged into the mains - this has the effect everywhere there is mobile phone masts, wireless etc. Which is everywhere and all the time.

Then you have other things on your own mains as well in close proximity - especially if your system is shared av - has a tv sky box router etc all with smps supplies, or streamers which are basically pc's.

So to me everyones system is affected all the time - if you tried a product 10 years ago - the effect could be very different to today. Thats why demo's like what I posted to are great because you can go along and hear without any hassle messing with your own system, no cost involced - but you get to hear what the benefits might be, then decide if you want to try at home. I bet 99% of home demos of good mains products result in a purchase.

The good units are bloody expensive - but they do a grand job. I am in a big way surprised CNo heard negative benefit from a Super Titan - thats bewildering to me. However I ask are people so accustomed to hearing noise on the systems that sound is what they associate with correct sound - just like when vibration is added to the sound. When its taken away its like something is missing from the sound - well that is true, whats takne away wasnt supposed to be there.

Even a seasoned listener of many years can be so used to hearing it sound the wrong way - its actually ingrained on them as right and it takes some time to realise and accept the new sound as correct. Once you have heard it and accepted you can never un hear it and the previous way will always sound wrong, even though it sounded right to you for so long.

Everyone must have experienced this with either a piece of kit change, speakers change, layout change etc.

I'f you don't go and listen, you will never know! *unknw*

I've never jumped off a tall building to see if I can fly, science pretty much proves that I can't so there's little point in finding out for myself.

Similar principle.

I don't think that's a safe thing to do, trying an IsoTek mains conditioner/ regenerator thingy won't kill you!

Talking of things that kill you, when I used to skateboard I would try to jump sets of stairs, rails and high walls. It was after that I realised that skateboarding was not for me.

I had to find out and live the dream.

Ignorance is expensive if it causes you to buy foo products.

Life is too short to listen to a sound that could have been much better than it is.

That's how I look at it.
Day someone proves to a system can sound no better with products like this in I may change my mind so far noone has done it including systems costing over £100k

Edit I would like to try a Genesis one but I have just laid out a huge cash lump on a 4k pj screen and infrastructure for it so pockets are very empty

You seem to be contradicting yourself.

A very big steinway system I mean very big.

Also not long ago a system well over £100k comprising £30k ish each dac valve power amps etc. That imaged on one song like I have never heard before but the rest was way below par for the money. Bass was horrendous.

Bass on the steinway was insane as was the scale of sound like nothing I have ever heard before or likely to hear again unless I hear that again

It was a probably a £1000 system with £99,000 pounds spent on foo from Isotek.
