Your not though - once is calling it a spade relentless comments that are not in argument with anyone else is trolling.

Are you going to this demo?

Will you go to another demo if it is closer to home?

Would or have you tried one of these Isotek products in your own system? Feedback on this

These are the only comments people want to read from you in this type of thread - so far your comments are none of the above so what you said in this thread is Pure Trolling
I which I had the time I would have attended. Looking forward to comments if anyone does attend though.

It's 'you're' not, not 'your' not, FFS.

Of course I haven't bought any of their nonsense, I know how things work, remember? I expect they will fix the demo so mugs end up buying them.

I am insulting his critique of my spelling - come on, what was the need to do that - except in an attempt at belittling me which failed miserably. My response was a response to that alone and I think its not far from the mark at all I stand by it. I have received enough insults from TrevC and him calling people "mugs" and insulting the Integrity of Isotek and Audio T Southampton Branch when he doesnt know a single person involved is disgusting. Did you report him for that? Maybe you should

I have no issue with TrevC having an opinion, same as anyone I have issue with him ruining threads for other people, when he has actually no experience at all with the products mentioned in the thread. He is just a troll simple

I never use personal attacks, and anyone that uses dishonesty to sell their products is fair game.

Children learn about where to use 'your' and 'you're' before secondary school. I find it annoying, so commented on it.

Don't do it then. :O)

IsoTek are quite good actually, and stfu TrevC.

This ad http://www.futureshop.co.uk/isotek-high-resolution-full-system-enhancer-p-6794.html

demonstrates that is not the case. It should be clear even to you that this product is a piece of nonsense, and if they really valued their reputation they wouldn't sell it.

I have never seen that before and you're right that looks like pure nonsense. Sorry TrevC. I'm very tired at the moment having had little sleep these past 2 days. [/b]

Having read the IsoTek system enhancer advert its horrible.

Burn in is speaker break in, as far as i can tell.

Demagnetisation is plugging your gear into the mains and playing a track, I think. [/b]

This ad is very deceitful and should be reported, IMO. [/b]

As usual thread reared off topic

What's the point in complaining to futureshop did you buy the disc and are you unhappy with it? If not why complain?

The burn in track will be a freq sweep of sorts so getting speakers to play all freqs as part of a run in period makes perfect sense to me.

Then there will be phase tests etc to make sure people have things setup correctly.

Either way the highlighting of such disc by the same person intent on steering the thread off track makes no difference to anything related to the thread.
Just the usual ploy by the usual subject bore bore bore

Back on topic who is going to this excellent event this weekend to be able to report back

I've kept out of this so far, and generally I intend to continue doing so, but...

Because there are laws in this country protecting consumers against misleading advertisements and manufacturers' claims. You can't just say no one has a right to pull up retailers and manufacturers on dodgy-looking claims unless we've bought the product and are dissatisfied; with that view, tricksters and con-merchants of every persuasion would have a free-for-all advertising anything they pleased, like they did in the 1800s with their baldness cures and other associated nonsense.

I've no firm views on mains treatments because I'm not scientifically knowledgable enough to prove they can't have any effect in any circumstance, but I know a CD which claims to 'demagnetize' my HiFi system is nonsense. But it, like a load of other HiFi mumbo jumbo, remains on sale purely because it's impossible to scientifically prove it cannot work, even though deep down you know it's claptrap marketed to the naive.

If Only the naive will buy it i dont know why it bothers any anyone else as they will be too smart to buy it...

But complaining
Wow my busy'ness today in complaining might have saved an Audiophile £10 today pat on my back.

Come on most audiophiles probably have a densen de magic cd tucked away somewhere you can send to the Audiophile to save him the £10. Cds like this are designed to be bundled with sales as a freeby nothing wrong with that at all.

Isotek sent me one for free when I had one of my bits of kit serviced

It's the principle not the price of the product. It doesn't matter if it's a £20 CD of test tones which claims to give your HiFi an orgasm, or a £3130 DDE-1, which to be fair to Russ Andrews, he doesn't actually claim does anything at all whatsoever. He can't make any claims about it or Trading Standards would roast his balls and present them to him on a plate.

Forgot to pick up on this, sorry:

You can't look at it that way. Legislation is introduced to protect everybody from deceipt and commercial/retail malpractice, including, but not limited to, those individuals who don't have sufficient background knowledge of a product or claim to know why it is false or misleading (my definition of 'naive' in this context). We should be very thankful such legislation exists.

Very likely my last post on the matter in this thread, and also apologies for the interjection which continued to take the thread off topic, albeit on a related issue.

I have heard and demoed all manor of Mains Blocks, Conditioners, Regenerators, Balanced Mains Transformers at all sorts of prices...including an Isotek Super Titan.

To my ears, they all changed the sound, mostly for the worse. The best was the Atlas Balanced Mains Transformer, which they have stopped making due to the price of Copper.

FWIW. I wouldn't dream of trying to "prove" that my results are real, as they were formulated using my humble auditory system.....though it's the same system that determines my taste in music, my appreciation of a good musician and chose the various elements of my Hifi (just like everyone else on here).

Placebo cuts both ways. You probably read some nonsense about conditioners somewhere that gave you your negative impression.
