Headphone amp needed.

I'm looking for a headphone amp that will run directly off my imac.

I've seen the B&W MM-1 which is in budget and would do the job with the added bonus of speakers also but that side of it is not so important.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

For far less than the MM-1 you could get the Beresford Caiman+ or Firestone Audio Fubar IV.

Both can accept 24bit/96kHz via optical from your iMac. And you can add speakers in future using the 'preamp out' function on both these units. Something like the Audioengine A2 would work nicely (and still be within your budget!). Or you could look at other active speakers.
