I have a Panasonic TH-46PZ85B tv, Sky HD box and an imported Panasonic SA-PT865 home cinema system which has 1 HDMI socket and an optical in socket and wireless rear speakers. I can get the home cinema to play cds and the 2 side speakers work but not the centre one and not the rear wireless ones. Currently the Sky box is attached to the tv via an hdmi lead and I have bought another hdmi lead but don't know whether I need this or an optical cable as I can't listen to the tv through the home cinema at present. There is a Viera link capability but when I switch to the home cinema option, there's no sound. I tried the hdmi lead from the tv into the home cinema system and another from the tv into the Sky box but that didn't work. Please help!

Thanks for that - so leave the HDMI cable between sky and tv and then add optical cable for home cinema to sky. Any particular optical cable you'd recommend?

Ok, got an optical cable and put that between the sky box and home cinema but it still doesn't work. With a hdmi cable from the tv to the home cinema, I can watch dvds and get the full surround sound but I just can't get Sky sound through the speakers. What am I doing wrong? Currently I have hdmi between tv and home cinema, hdmi between tv and Sky and optical cable between Sky and home cinema.

Thanks!ÿ

Are you sure you've got the home cinema input set to receive the optical signal from sky?
