HDMI 1.4 or 1.3

I'm going for a 3D setup but ive been advised by a AV specialist that certain 1.3 HDMI cables will be sufficient although i have a basic understanding that i should be 1.3. They reccomended the 1.3's as they reckon the 1.4's are a lot more expensive?

Advice please?

I'd rather just get the best thing for my setup? any reccomendations for cables for the new 3D Samsung TV?
