It's probably his mother's recipe....Brown sauce? What are you doing?
Onions, garlic or peppers then add the baked beans. Brown sauce is great with a bacon or sausage sarnie but...but...but...

I shelved brown sauce years ago. Now replaced it with HP fruity sauce (other brands of fruity sauce are available), which makes a sarnie a bit more interesting. It's probably his mother's recipe....
I used to go to a chinese restaurant in Keswick many years ago whilst on holiday and they served sizzling fillet steak in HP fruity sauce.....😋👍I shelved brown sauce years ago. I like your inventiveness, however not for me.My mum was a great many wonderful things, and I do eat some the way she prepared them, but this unholy concoction is all my own!
Talking of 'hard times', I just read that one in four people are skipping meals to make ends meet. That's quite shocking.....😕I like your inventiveness, however not for me.
my mother also taught me how to make do in hard times but even now I cannot get some of her recipes as good as she managed .
Think I am one of them.Talking of 'hard times', I just read that one in four people are skipping meals to make ends meet. That's quite shocking.....😕
you are right.... Too oily, and only 15 cloves?Last night cooked a first dinner in 3 or 4 days. It looks oily and resembling a road accident, but the flavour was sensational. It was just a load of fridge and cupboard ingredients: red kidney beans in chilli and tomato sauce, mushrooms, lots of finely sliced onions, 15 cloves of garlic, dried herbs, carrots, red lentils, a Cumberland sausage to season and add a little interest. All mopped up with a little crusty bread.
I used good quality olive oil and extra virgin
I'd recommend the Hairy Bikers sausage and bean casserole. You can always up the garlic!Last night cooked a first dinner in 3 or 4 days. It looks oily and resembling a road accident, but the flavour was sensational.
Chicken Ping?Meals that have to be cooked no longer than 20 minutes. No time for cooking!
Reminds me that I have all the required sausage making stuff. Must get around to making them, one the freezer is emptied a bit.I've ordered myself a small meat grinder (mincing machine) with an attachment to make sausages.
I haven't made them yet due to dodgy health for the past couple of months. Over the next few weeks I'll give it a go and let you guys know.Reminds me that I have all the required sausage making stuff. Must get around to making them, one the freezer is emptied a bit.
With me it's the other way round: I do all the cooking and err indoors dons the marigolds.Missed this thread before, not that I actually cook. My wife is a retired chef, properly qualified, four year City and Guilds at catering college, so she is a damn sight better cook than I'll ever be. She cooks, I wash-up!
Same with me.With me it's the other way round: I do all the cooking and err indoors dons the marigolds.
I just find it relaxing.Same with me.
I enjoy cooking, she sees it as a chore.
I have done a little cooking but, cooking for a chef is stressful…I just find it relaxing.
Yep, it is if you have cook for dozens of whinging clients who demand their slow cooked osso bucco in ten minutes. That's why I gave up the professional kitchen.I have done a little cooking but, cooking for a chef is stressful…
