Fixing speakers to speaker stands?????

Can anyone help? When placing speakers onto dedicated speaker stands should you place the speaker flat onto the speaker plate, or should you use spikes, bluetac etc.

I use blu-tack.

I use spikes. I'd say if spikes are available, use them, if not, use BluTak - anything but flat on the plate.

Only works if both the top of your speaker stands and the bottom of your speakers are 100% flat, however.
