Electro buddy I know I said 1 at a time but It makes sense for me to collect a unit when I take one back because of the round trip mileage.

Plus for some reason I really wanted to try this amp. I saw it last time I was at Nintronics, its really something in the flesh compared to photos, they dont do it justice at all.

Its the best built piece of hifi equipment I have ever seen up close. Beautiful thing really high quality in every regard.
Sound quality.... you will have to wait lol

Agreed but then would take a long time to review.
One change is much quicker to identify especially one as big as putting this amp in

it's definitely a back breaking power amplifier you want to look at it's big brother the 900 u I think it is 600watts into 8ohms

The big one is twice the price but only slightly more power

150 instead of 120.

But I bet its better in every area, must be really something.

I would like to try it but once you hear something like that will be hard to go back.

yes this is the issue but looks a lot better then the Arcam power amp you had construction wise

This m700 is a completely different amp to the arcam p49

I really liked the arcam but its like a toy by comparison.

They are not batting in the same league its not even fair to compare.

I'd like to know, in your opinion, how close the P49 gets to this amp, in percentage terms.

My own personal rule, says that to get a worthwhile improvement, you need to spend twice as much....and I think (pricewise), that is true in this case....so I'd expect a decent step up in performance.

My expectation, is that both the power amps should be on the same side of the street, when it comes to their presentation.

Thats what I was expecting as well Cno but its not the case at all.
This Luxman is a completely different animal and sound to the arcam in every way..

The arcam is all about the calm collected organised whole. This amp is about bringing the sound to life by being full of energy.

Now I am intrigued.

I have read that it takes a while to warm up and come on song.

Is it cleaner, sharper and more powerful sounding (even if not on paper)?

Great match with the Refs?

I am still fine tuning.

But I have had to change the sound signature of my audio pc as it was too forward as it was - hard on you over a longer listen.
Then Isolation devices have done the rest.

Its a different beast to the arcam, they dont compare but one is twice the money.

I will put it like this with the arcam it was the best my system ever sounded with this amp it sounds how I always wished it might do but didnt know it could do.

It could well be too forward for some people how they are setup you need to have your **** seriously in order imo because of how dynamic it is.

It's good to get a feel for how good the Refs actually are.....now you just need a Klimax DS!

I have a new linear power supply on its way purely for the jcat femto.

I wanted a paul hynes but he didnt get back to me for a few days so assumed he wouldn't.
Cant really afford a gem from him anyway.
So instead i have got a dual rcore transfomer based lpsu coming with good caps and quality wiring. Monster of a thing purely for the usb card.

Does a klimax ds have anything like that??

I can't give you a technical description of the Klimax DS....but it's one of the best digital sources you can get. You need to put one on test...if you can get hold of one.

I mentioned the album to you a while back I have another album you would like its a live cd blues rock but the recording quality is really good even though it's live it's Jeff kollman the album is called guitar screams live you will like it .
