I thought I'd share some electronic music I like in a dedicated genre thread.

How would an oldschool house album sound if it was made in the UK in 2014?

Apparently very very good.

Gorgon City - Sirens

FTPA feat Erik Hassle (this bb has a deep bass response)

Lover Like You feat. Katy B (simple and just sexy)

this is very commercial derivative house music Vlad, not really good progressive house music that came out of the late 80s and early 90s acid house scene.

House music of the 90s which I like is the likes of Sasha and John Digweed, the progressive house and techno genres. Ie dance music types. The 1994 album renaissance is a very good album in that style.

This sort of stuff is akin to the house stuff that was in the charts at the time, Black box, adamski etc, that people listened too on the radio but there wasn’t an alternative scene for this sort of stuff you’ve linked too, unless it was all mashed up and remixed in the clubs.

Please refrain from educating me about electronic music because I'm the university library on it.

I simply like this kitchy oldy type of house. It pleases me.

did you try the jazz album I put on the other thread ?

These, not yet. Listening to stuff like Underworld (Daren Emerson colab albums) to remind me of childhood. Dubnobasswithmyheadman was a big fall in love with electronic music for me.

I’m not knowledgeable about electronic music but have really enjoyed listening to selected Empire tracks over the years. Not sure if Coldplay qualifies here but the Giorgio Morodo mix of Midnight is a favourite.

Giorgio moroders, best of electronic disco is very good. Underworld dubnobasswithmyheadman album superb. A 10/10 album for me, one that shaped my young tastes about 20 years old. Listening to dark and long stoned. Wow.

Try Tangerine Dream’s new album Quantum Gate.

Now that's what I'm talking about. What a comeback after Froese's passing. Very nice album by any standards. I drifted away reading about Saturn's Hexagon, Tabby’s Star, non-locality... simply gorgeous and mind bending.
