Early Sony X9005A Sets & HDMI 4 Port Upgrade - FMP-X5 Media Player/4K

Hi everyone, certain owners of this set including myself will need a HDMI 4 Hardware Upgrade to allow us to use the FMP - X5 Media Player with our TV's. This is because the earlier versions of this set did not have the HDMI 4 Port Upgarde which supports HDCP 2.2.

Sony have provided somewhat of a response with regards to this and provided a link on your website to chack whether a harware upgrade is required or not, but nobody as of yet has had it done here in the UK.

Just to add that for US Customers affected by this, a free in house service upgrade has been offered.

Hi just to give a quick update. Parts for the hardware upgrade have been ordred and hopefully the upgrade will be done either at the end of this week, or beginning of next week. More info with regards to this on the Sony Community Forums Site.

Also spotted the new X8500B TV on the Sony UK Website. Great for people who don't need the fantastic sounding magnetic fluid speakers, but still want a 4K TV. :clap:
