Anyone have any experience with this turntable? Is it any good? A freind is selling one for a reasonable amount (less than £50)?

It's maybe a little overpriced for what it is. You can pick up a decent 505-2 or 505-3 off ebay for around £30-40. The 505-2 will match the 435 and the 505-3 will better it (although not hugely).
But saying that, if it's in mint condition (with a good stylus that has a bit of life left), and you know it's been well looked after, then it's probably worth it to you, as you won't have to drive miles to pick it up or pay for delivery...
I love my dual - it's an honest no-nonsense deck that just plays music without fuss!
