Ive got Denon mini M37 with Q Acoustic 1010s connected with QED Silver Annivarsary XT cables. Want to upgrade speakers and the consensus on here seems to favour Tannoy F1 customs. Due to lack of space they gotta go on a shelf. Will they work, has anybody else on here got theres tight up to a wall?

Heard them in my dad's office on a shelf. They were powered by a Rotel RA01 coupled with some Technics tuner. Sounded really well. I can't compare that to the same speaker on stands but they sound far better than my old Bose 201 which are made for wall mounting. From the looks of these speakers they seem to be pretty independant of mounting position.

As long as theyre not more than 250 mm deep they go on my shelf. How much space do you need between em? I only got 2 foot!

They're 220mm deep, but as JD said you may as well stay with your present speakers if you can only place them 2 feet apart.

Thanks for that JohnDuncan and Sizzers. Only other option is to put em on wall brackets!

Without wishing to delve in to your domestic living arrangements, is there no way that you can rearrange your room to get, let's say, 5 feet seperation between your speakers?

Only if i put em above door on brackets, but then they would be 80 inches off floor. My rooms bedroom! Got a cupboard with door then 32" tv on stand then storage heater 3" from tv. Shelf is direcly above tv, thats only place for speakers Sizzers.

I upgraded my speakers from 1010is to f1s last year ,and to be perfectly honest the f1s sound better than the 1010i when connected to my Nad amp ,But i think its safe to say the 1010is are better built and better looking they are a dam good small bookshelf speaker

I think the 1010is are best suited to a hihfi with a seperate subwoofer {especially a micro system}

I found they started clipping with the bass on max at mid volume when connected to my Nad amp turn the bass down and the clipping stops but u loose what bass there was ,Still daqm good speakers though

Personally because u have a micro system i would buy a subwoofer and stick with the 1010is
