Did my amp bust my speaker ?

I've been driving my PSB speakers with an Arcam avr 600 and i just realised that my tweeter was busted. I spoke with a psb dealer who suggested that the amp was guilty. There amp is great but the crackles when i change inputs are terrible - if i leave the input as satellite, they crackle through the night. Could this have busted the tweeter ?
