If you're hooking a Blu-Ray player in via the multichannel analogue inputs, the AV receiver doesn't require any decoding for the HD audio formats (including DTS HD Master Audio) - what you will need to make sure is the Blu-Ray player is able to decode these formats onboard and output them via these outputs (like the Sony BDP-S550 and Panasonic DMP-BD80 can).

Depends on budget, but 3 or 4 pairs (for 5.1 or 7.1) of regular Chord Crimsons would do the job well I would have thought. Might be worth waiting to see if anyone who's using their Blu-Ray player this way has any recommendations though.

Hmm, £100-ish for the Chords + the hassle of having to re-calibrate the speaker levels manually + further grief arising from lip-sync issues...

Might have to re-think my budget/set-up options: a) Pana DMP-BD80 for £250-ish + Chord analogues for £100-ish, & keep my non-DTS-HD MA/HDMI Denon AV amp or b), a Sony BDPS360 BDP (£190-ish) + a Sony STRDH800 AV amp (£270)?
