So my system is as below with the Integrated 8vs2 Amp driving HF and the X Power driving LF (tried all options, no difference before anyone starts!).

Budget is about £1500, so what do you think about flogging the Integrated, and replacing it with another X Power and an Audiolab 8200DQ as a Pre, and with a view to the Audiolab overriding the DAC in the Squeezebox? Or any other offers?

Buy a 2nd hand x-power and a 2nd hand DAC XP+. I think this should sound better and give you a clearer uograde path.

Buy a PSX-R for the DAC XP+ when you can afford to

I would second the dac Xp and another x power , while the 8vs2 was a great unit which I enjoyed for years the x powers in mono with the dac Xp are in a different league. I would say that you would see a massive improvement with the x power in stereo mode and adding the dac Xp, then you could add the second x power later. If you can stretch I would recommend getting the Xp QX
