Hi All,

I have a pretty decent Hi-Fi seperates system (Nad amp and CD player, KEF speakers) but recently have started to listen to a lot more music on my desktop pc. Will it be worth upgrading from my onboard sound to a dedicated sound card, and if so could you recommend one?

Also, my PC speakers are naff. Are there any PC speakers that perform particularly well with MP3 or AAC files?

Don't really want to spend more than £150 and preferably less.

Forgot to mention, that as I only really listen to music, I would only want a 2.0 or 2.1 system

Thanks,

Dom

I assume that you do not want to connect your pc to your stereo, because it is in different room or something?

I would not invest in a new sound card (although it would improve the sound), but use all money to buy speakers that can handle digital input. The Samson Dock 4i for instance (never heard it though!) is one option with USB input, but there are several others. .
