Wondered whether it still cuts the mustard against the latest award winner. I know when I mentioned it to my dealer about a year ago, he said poun-for-pound it still one of the best.

Any thoughts appreciated.

PP, do you mean Chameleon?

PP, do you mean Chameleon?I assume PP is talking about Chord Carnival Silver Plus speaker cable, the predecessor to the Chord Carnival Silver Screen cable.

I used to use it and it was great. I had the biwire version and then went up to the single wire Odyssey 2 instead. The latter is def a lot better but the Carnival was a brill cable for the cash.

EDIT - I should have said, the key difference between the Carnival and Odyssey is bass quantity and quality.

Sorry, should of mentioned "speaker cable." I had mine since just before WHFI (5 years I think) reviewed it. It's a very good cable compared to my previous one from Richer, so gathering opinion on whether it still hits the mark, or whether for similar money could do a lot better.

So that would be more bass, better quality, with the Odyssey, or less bass, poorer quality..or any of the other possible permutations?

Well my experience was more bass (signal) that the amp was producing. Thus, better and more as far as I'm concerned. I can believe that in some cases getting more signal through might not be desirable. As to whether the Odyssey 2 does anything odd to bass making it bad I have no idea. Maybe more expensive cables are more articulate, dunno.
