Had a power cut, needed to update firmware on drive to exit the Emergency mode that the drive went into, as update was completing it asked for Buffalo username and password, which has not been changed from default settings, but it did not like them so refused access so not sure if firmware has worked. Now the drive is saying that it is not mapped, so not allowing me to access shared files, but it shows up as on my network ? any ideas other then put a hammer to it would be greatly helpful.

There used to be several threads on this issue in the Buffalo Forums.

What OS are you running? What Linkstation is it? Have you checked that IP Address is correct? It can reset when there's a power cut.

You could try re-mapping the drive as a differnt drive name

Thanks for input, have spoken to Buffalo seems fireware 1.41 has a problem where it locks users out of the drive and does not allow default settings to be used.

They are working on it ! so basically I have an expensive brick attached to my network.

No mention of it on their forum or website. Great
