Hi all..
I am looking at the bose lifestyle 48 its now drop in price from £4000 to £1600 is this a good deal, Would my £1600 be better spent on another set up...at the moment i have onkyo tx-sr307 with onkyo speakers which is basic but i like it but would like to move to the next step.
with the bose i understand that it has no blu ray so need to plug one in which i can live with but will it run my xbox 360 in 5.1 as well and tv with the speakers and is it ture they have no hdmi?

any advice would be so greatful as i love suround sound but not got much understanding in the new tech that keps coming out...

thanks

Moving to Bose LifeStyle 48 is a step in the backward direction in my opinion. It has only 2 HDMI inputs, which will most likely not be sufficient & definitely not future proof. Besides, you should demo & see if you're happy with the sound. I wasn't.

IMO, you get more bang for your buck (and greater flexibility) by not having Bose. I moved away from it for my main system a couple of years ago and don't regret it. I still have their speakers in the kitchen as the little cubes are the right size and with all that limestone on the floor nothing is ever going to sound especially good.

For that price you could get an Onkyo 609 and the Q Acoustics Q7000 style package with some money left over for speaker cable or Blu-Ray player. A lot more future proof, better sounding and (to my eyes anyway) better looking.
