BLURAY PLAYER DILEMMA - PIONEER LX71 OR DENON BLURAY TRANSPORT?

Hi all. i think i may have finally given up the ghost with the pioneer lx71 being constantly delayed and having read the Denon bluray transport review today, and it getting 5 stars from the what hifi team, i was wondering does anyone own this player and what there thoughts on it are. My amp is an onkyo 905 so im hoping the decoding of audio wont be a problem. Its not cheap at £900 so any feedback or opinions will be much appreciated. To the what hifi team, how do tou rate the picture of the denon compared to the pioneer lx70a or even the lx71? thankyou all

Theres a review in the next edition on the pioneer, and maybe on the site, the delay is the firmware and should be out early october.

Thanks Pioneer 7. ive read the review of the denon and am considering this, i think it retails for 900 but i think i may have found it more towards the 700 mark. It got 5 stars in the issue of what hifi which was out today so might be worth a look at. the pioneer seems to be forever delayed!

I bought the Denon last week and it is awsome!! Forget anything else out there, this is the best picture and sound you can buy. I paid £750 from Sevenoaks.

Edit. At the risk of answering my own question, I guess it is the DVD-2500BT? If so has it been upgraded since its launch back in January?

Hi stuart 123, got my denon 2500 delivered this afternoon for just under £750! ive not had a chance to connect it up yet, going to do that later this evening. Cant wait though. what amp are you running yours through? ive got the onkyo 905 and im hoping this player will do my pioneer 5090 some justice!!

hi stevep, it is the dvd2500 bt. Ive no idea wether the model has been upgraded or not. Was there a fault with early models?
