Best used casetter player under £50 ?

My duaghter bought a used Alba CP-45 portable casette player and it only lasted 5 months. It suddenly has decided to stop working !

..I dont think it will be viable getting it repaired as it only cost £35

..so on the look out for a good used one with good sounds quality and reliability.. and all for under £50 ish !

Any suggestions ?

You're right about the possible cost of repair versus the price she paid.
You could check out brands such as Aiwa.

When you say hers stopped working, is it totally dead - on batteries and any plug-in power supply?
You can't see / hear any evidence of the motor running?
Or is it just dead soundwise?
...see I hate the thought of it just being chucked.

Does it have to be a cassette player? Maybe a decent low cost DAP to load some music onto?

It was literally working until she put it in a box and now after trying different batteries there is no sound either on play ffwd etc

As for DAP.. sorry I dont know what you mean

For under £50 i dont think there will be any diffrence in sound these are small units so dont expect too much.
Tapes are very old School now.so limited choice in a all in one unit .

Well it's got 'better sound quality' written in very fancy writing on it 😆
Radio and a recorder for under £20, as Shrek says above, don't expect too much.

Have you got a mate with a screwdriver to open your daughter's one? - nothing to lose by having a look inside, before you bin it.....if you're near SE Essex, leave it with me...I can advise.

PS a DAP is a Digital Audio Player - plays audio off of SD cards (which could include audio transferred from existing tapes).
