Hello

Ive heard a lot about the 'Rothwell In-Line Attenuator', Are there any other alternative In-Line Attenuators that i could look into?

A few reviews of the 'Rothwell In-Line Attenuator' portray the device as working very well to indeed to sort volume control issues etc.

However according to the review, their can be a negative effect on the sound, in terms of the loss of 'attack' and 'excitement'

They felt that if the 'Rothwell In-Line Attenuator' made use of higher-end 'Audiophile' components that it might be able to reduce this negative effect it has on sound quality. Review link is below.

The Product would be used on my Rotel RC-1082, that has very high 150mV Input Sensitivity.

I can only use the first 1/4 of the Volume Control before volume levels get to high!

I would be interested to hear about other alternatives to this product.

Thanks in advance :)

If there's no distortion, you don't need an attenuator. I have the same thing on my NAD - seems to be a problem with using cheap volume pots.

Thanks For the Replies

Hmm, i would be interested to see how much difference, if any 'Russ Andrews Attenuator' makes., for the significant extra costs.

I feel another thread coming on :) hehe

Cheers :)
