Which would you consider to be the best blue ray player out of the sony bdp s760 and the lg bd390 as you can now pick up the sony model for around the £310 mark.

I would (and did) opt for the Sony, yes it may have a few less features than the LG but IMHO it's has better PQ and Sound.
The Sony S-BD760 is a mid-range player, not budget.
For a budget choice, either the Sony BDP-S360 or Panasonic DMP-BD60 would be the ones to consider.

Very interesting. Haven't heard from anyone that actually compared them yet, people have been asking this same question in another thread. There's still quite a price difference between the Sony and LG, but would love to hear how they compare. How would you describe the difference in PQ and SQ?
