An impossible task?

I am researching home theatre packages - blu-ray players plus 5.1 speakers. Budget is around 300 to 400 British pounds. Am not expecting much at that price level, but would like a level of performance that isn't grating. Room size is woeful, about 3 metres by 3 metres, so small is better. Second hope is the blu-ray player can handle DVD-Audio and blu-ray audio. I know the sound won't be much, but would like to hear a few remixed 5.1 albums and the occasional 5.1 concert.

Anything spring to mind?
