Yamaha DSP-Z7 setup

I am after some help and advice, I am reinstalling my 5.1 AV setup after it not being used for a few years
getting a bit older and more forgetful lol
I have wired it up again but the sound quality don’t sound as good as it used to.
I am wondering if I have wired up or done something wrong
The set up is,
Yamaha DSP-Z7 AV amp
M&K mx350uk subwoofer
M&K SS150 speakers
M&K S150 speakers
rumour 2 speaker cable
sony blu-ray player
4k fire stick
added a pic of the back of the amp.
1. Could you tell me if I have got the speaker and sub cables in the correct place
2. When connecting the blu-ray player is it better to use hdmi or optical cable
3. When i previously had it connected on the front of the display it used to tell me if the film I was watching was in stero or 5.1 sound. It is not doing this now

having problems trying to add photos, I will carry on trying but if anyone could post a pic of the back of the amp and the correct places to wire up the speakers and sub woul be much appreciated

Thank you, unfortunately it does not help, as you have confirmed to me that I have got it wired up correctly. So I am still none the wiser to why it don’t seem to sound as good and why it don’t tell me on the display when it is playing in 5.1
Is there any settings in the amp need to change?

It’s been a long time since I’ve used a Yamaha amp and it was certainly older than yours so cannot be sure on the settings.

What does the display show?

Does it have an automatic set-up process?

Is the issue with the BD Player and the 4K stick? (Don’t think that amp passes a 4K signal either).
