I share the enthusiasm for big integrated amps - many moons ago I had a Sansui AU-919 that had a great MM and MC preamp built in, amongst other things. They were understandably rare in the U.K. Anyone curious, here's a link.

Hey that's fantastic news pp, you've made me officially (probably?) the most jealous person on the forum, I've hankered after a Tucana 2 for many years, especially a black one, just haven't really made much effort to find one, or anything else for that matter.

No probs. Seems like Leema are a bit confused. They originally announced the new Pulse ages ago. Then it re-emerged as the Quasar, and now... Pulse IV.
Anyway, the Tucana was way below 2k mark, and even factor in a phono stage it's still sub-2k

I was tracking the Quasar all last year and in the end, as there was no updates coming out of Leema, I lost patience. The Quasar would have ticked most of my boxes. I did raise the lack of updates with Lee of Leema at the Bristol show this year and he did acknowledge they had strung it out rather too long. I was also looking out for a 2nd hand black Tuscana, but sadly there were none that matched my budget at the time. I have no complaints whatsover with my current Exposure amps, for which I also got a very good deal, but I do still fancy a Tuscana one day *smile*

No idea about the new Pulse. No doubt it will be quality. But I'm more than bowled over with the Tucana. So in effect, I don't care what the new Pulse is like.
