Watch my lips. I said: "Didn't have a clue what it meant so I looked it up on the computer. "

Remember I'm a dumb Brit. I don't know or understand many languages, much less Africaans, hence why I said: "Didn't have a clue what it meant so I looked it up on the computer. "

Don't get so worked up.

You made a small mistake

Its Afrikaans not africaans.

Feels so good no wonder all you guys like correcting my english so much. Make one feel so clever. Now i know why you guys do it so often.

Put on a Russian sounding name as nick and no one will correct your english. Everyone imagines you drunk and with a Kalashnikov.

Pp glad you enjoying the upgrade. Are you considering new speakers? Or just better source equipment.

The speakers are for keeps. Yes, as I've mentioned several times, turntable is priority. This won't happen now for a few months. A new amp wasn't on my radar until very recently.

PP,can I ask a question as I missed the details and had a trail though a few pages but can't find what I'm after? How much did you pay for the amp,and where did you get it from?
I'd never heard of the amp, but looking at reviews and your comments, it looks like a superb amp, and Def a suitable next step for me if and when I ever get that far.

@radiorog

It cost £1700 from a localish dealer. It still has nearly 18 months manufactuer warranty and the dealer has given 3 months.

However, in your situation I'd look at updating your speakers first. Those Dyns are really good but the K3 would benefit from a better speaker: Something like Dyn Contours (smaller S1.3 should be suitable) or perhaps newer B&W standmounts.

I've not heard the K3 but if the older models are anything to go by, it's a ballsy amp. Think it'll be a process of elimination.

Hope that's helped?

Agree with Al. It has gone way beyond reasonable. What has been a generally friendly thread, the last couple of pages has gone too far off topic

cse, Andrew and Vlad should be ashamed of themselves. There's no place on this forum for politics, culture differences or oneupmanship.

I'm not coming back to this thread.

Full moon?

C'mon girls, let's be friends.

Anyway, I'm the racist on this forum, have you all forgotten? :)

I remember nothing from last night, woke up in the bush, confused and covered in blood and next to me was a dress and blond wig?

I've never met a nice South African.

Statements like that are totally unnecessary and irrelevant to this forum.

Bring on the mods....

Just wish they could act as mature adults. These inappropriate slurs makes this forum uncomfortable... for all of us.

However, this amp amazes me everytime I play any format of music: At the moment I'm spinning a 'Ministry of Sound' CD "Club Classics". The levels of realism is breathtaking; the Pulse took realism to another level compared to sub-£1,000 amps but the Tucana takes it another couple of levels.

Strangely, though, I'm not sitting there dissecting every track, the music seems to flow around and over you, even at lower volumes.

Can't wait for better sources (a couple of months at least).

Congratulations on your upgrade. Glad that you are enjoying your new sound.

Understand that you next plan to upgrade your source, to either a CDP or TT. Would be very interested to know how you get along. Will be helpful for my, soon to start search for a suitable source.

And any reasons why you are not looking at a streamer. Thanks.

@Newlash

Cheers.

Unfortunately a new table won't be forthcoming for a while, for two major reasons: Firstly, I'm skint. And second, I think Mrs. P would have my knackers strung around the lampshade. She's tolerated the amp - pretty well considering the cost etc etc. But spend another 2k on a source I think will tip her over the top, and I will be posting sounding like a Bee Gee.

Why not a streamer? Around 5,000 reasons: 3,000 records (or thereabouts) and roughly a couple of thousand CDs.
