Looking to replace my sadly departed Sansa Clip with something a little less plastic-y. I loved it while it worked but looking back at how long it lasted it failed pretty quickly. I've a budget of roughly £100 and want minimum of 8gb. The iPod nano would be perfect but I've no interest in using iTunes. Been looking at various Sony and Cowon models but none are rising above the rest so any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is software called Songbird it's like iTunes but it might be different enough to be worth looking into it. It works with iPods and is available for Mac and PC. It's free and trustworthy I used to use it when it was available on Linux just Google "SongBird Software"
