8 ways audiophiles FOOL ourselves. You too.

I couldn't watch this yawwwn. The usual tropes - we can't hear beyond 20khz etc etc. And he indulges in silly extremes like knob feel????? I haven't come across the most paranoid audiophile who could be swayed that a better knob makes for a better sound.

You miss the point then. A lot of this is subconscious. Knob feel is only one small thing he mentioned. I'm sure you've come across audiophiles who think cables make a difference. The fact you focused on the knob feel thing speaks volumes.

I still found the video a bit pointless, what he says has been repeated many times by many others.

So you're saying cables don't make a difference? 🤔

I'm not watching the video.

A more luxurious and solid feel to a product will enhance your enjoyment of it, no matter what it is. It's not that that specific aspect makes any audible difference, but you'll feel more happy and at ease with your purchase, and you'll enjoy using it more. Would you buy a car you hate the look of, even it was the best choice for your requirements? No, because you'd be conscious that other people are thinking the same as you when they see you in that car. People who don't give a monkey's about cars will choose the fugly one - for them it's a product to perform a specific job - but those that buy a car with ANY consideration for looks, won't. The latter are most likely men.

I get the impression that these videos are being posted purely to stir up arguments, and they always seem to generate personal comments. Enough already, locked temporarily - the rules are perfectly clear and will be adhered to from now on.
