Yamaha v3067 and connecting an ipod?

Hello, I have finally upgrade my Denon 1910 to a yammy v3067 and so far I am impressed. I am using monitor audio apex speakers and can hear the difference compared to my old 1910.

I was wondering is there a way that I can connect my ipod classic without a universal dock? I have tried to use my old denon docking station but it doesn't seem to work and I have also tried to plug the ipod in using the front usb port with the white ipod lead but no device is found.

Do I have to buy the docking station surely with a million ports on the back there must be another way of setting it up.

Hi,

Yamaha's website state - iPod/iPhone compatibility with optional YDS-12 Universal Dock.

This looks like the only option.

Oddly enough, when I had a RXV1067, the only iPod (from various we have in the house) that worked direct from the USB, was the old shuffle type. Hope this helps.
