Got the same amp as you and so far i prefer movies in the 'straight' setting. i.e no dsp decoding.

as for the settings for the ps3, i'm not 100% sure but just by setting it to 5.1 it should be correct.

You need to assign the correct optical input to the same as the hdmi input you are using for sky.

Hope that helps

Class Amp isn't it!!!

I have one of these and I'm very pleased with it.
I called Yamaha when I had a few problems setting it up and they were extremely helpful. The number's on the manual. I'd try giving them a call.
One note, though. If you want HD sound then you have to have it set on 'straight'. DSPs only output regular tracks (well, DD+).

I always find its best to have Stereo and 5.1 via the Pure Direct Mode. The only time i have it outside of this is when i upmix 5.1 to 7.1 using he Extended Surround Option.

Sky requires a Optical Cable ran to the box to a optical input and then Press Menu and then on the HDMI Input you have the Sky set too press up on the Directional Buttons and it will allow you to change the input for that HDMI sound and also Rename it to Sky etc etc

I sometimes use the Prologic Movie with Drama DSP if im watching any TV which isnt broadcast in 5.1 such as Soaps, Docu, etc etc

The Sky Optical in steps

On Screen display > Inputs > Selec HDMI Sky is on > Press Up - This will give you the HDMI Input Menu/Settings (This took me a while to figure out)

The Manual can be download in PDF format either online from Yamaha or on the CD provided

Anyone else have any Yamaha 667 Hints, Tips or Tricks?
