x-ray v8

I used to use the old (original) mf x-ray and it was the best cdp i have owned, is the new v8 any good? i can pick one up next week for 480 pounds new and boxed. Im seriously tempted, the only other option is a new cyrus cd6 for 400 notes, that can be upgraded to the 8se spec for 500. What player would you buy? im a big musical fidelity fan, however with the darkside of the force upgadeing is a tad easier, it would be..

Very good player. I just upgraded from the Roksan Kandy III and now have more of everything, including boxes. The bass is deeper, tighter and more controlled. The treble is sweeter and less fatiguing. The sound is clearer and more detailed. I think it's a more balanced player than the Kandy but don't get me wrong, the Kandy rocked. Worth every penny to be honest.
