Don't want to start another do cables make a difference or not discussion. Just wanted to share with you guys that I recently bought one of these cables.

The highs and the lows improvements are noticeable but only for the trained listener. What it does very obviously is widen the soundstage and make everything more 3D. Even my friend who doesn't believe in cables noticed this. I will buy the Elektra next week and hook it up to my amp. Will let you guys know if it's a big step up from the Aurora.

Hi SnS, you are no longer using the Supra LoRad power cord?

Can I hitch a ride on your thread SnS as I don't want to start another cable thread either. Right now I'm using a QED Qunex Silver Spiral fully balanced interconnect (thrown in as a freebie by my dealer) and the speaker cables are as per my signature below. What would i/c and speaker cable would really bring out the best from my system?

Hi Jtein,

I'm really enthusiastic about the wireworld wires. As they make a difference much more noticeable (for the better, because different does not always mean better 😉). I'm planning to buy another Aurora for my Mainsblock and then an Elektra for my amp.

My dealer has the same setup as you in his listening room, more or less. They use MIT interconnects and speaker cables. Sounds damn good. Not the cheapest though. If you get some Avt 1 interconnects and Avt 1s Speakercables that would work really well.

one off:what is a trained listener

A trained listener imo is someone who CAN listen to music with a analytical ear. I.e. seperate the layers of music in a piece. Or just know your music collections so well that you can point out a change of detail quite easily. Trained listeners DON'T have to be formally trained, you can easily be self-trained.

Musicians are trained listeners. Audiophiles are often trained listeners. Music lovers can be trained listeners. Even the 8 year old kid in your neighbourhood can be a trained listener.

I've been a musician and I can say at least from my own experience, before I was a musician my ears would miss a lot things in music.

Oh gimme a break! Do you ever wonder why the reviewers for audiophile magazines rarely take part in blind trials to see whether or not any cabling really makes a difference?

If youve only recently bought it, youll almost certainly hear more improvements over time
