I'll try to get a demo of the Logitech Squeezebox Boom from somewhere. I've heard the Sonos S5. The Squeezebox boom has a sub out. I don't think the Sonos S5 has that.

Mine is a Buffalo Linkstation............Logitech website mentions that it supports NAS drives.

Why would you want a sub with the S5? It has a nice full sound as it is!

I was just thinking loud & comparing the specs of the two on paper before I made a purchase......nothing related to performance. You can check my signature to see what I went for eventually, & no, I didn't buy an extra sub! 😉

Coming to this thread very late ( I don't use the forum much) I only bought my Sonos as by a better amp had lost me the ability to play music in the kitchen. I have never stumbled on such an amazing thing, Sonos is the dogs dangly's. I have the zonebridge, ZP90, ZP120, S5 and CR200. My wife even uses it while i am away on business so it must be simple (She is a smart women but Techno-adverse).

Having listened to the competition I think Sonos is a bargain, the only better multi-zone any of my friends have cost him £15000 and in some ways it is inferior.

I didn't tell, I asked. Another sign of your negativity towards me. I know why, even if no one else does.
Intriguing, but can we keep the slanging match off the forums, please?

Granted it's a very good product, but it's ridiculously overpriced! Suppose I want music from my PC to play on my home cinema system, I'll have to buy a ZoneBridge worth £79 & a ZonePlayer 90 worth £248!!! And if I want it to play in the garden, I'll need Sonos S5 worth £349!!!!

My PS3 does the job & currently, PS3 slim is available for only £229. It also does a lot more things than just being a media streamer.

Sonos is a total rip off at the moment!

All I want is, to use the spare 2 channels of my Yamaha receiver to play music in the garden wirelessly. My PS3 will get the music from my PC, & I can then play them in my garden. Any cheaper options???

I use this kit below to send wireless from my AV to the kitchen and bathroom (one speaker in each room). They really sound great for the ridiculous price (around 50 Eur). One of the best products I ever bought.
