If I had to start again, and could only keep one current piece of kit, I would keep my Rega Apollo CDP. Upgrade wise, it will be the last thing I change, if ever.

However, the star in my house is the Sonos Play 1 in my kitchen which gets used everyday (its on now as I type this). It gets it's star billing because my wife loves using it. Previously she was not that interested in listening to music or having the radio on. But that's all changed now, she has even expressed a desire to have another Play 1 upstairs so that she can listen whilst ironing. *smile*

I found what I was looking for in the beolab 9's. I'm enjoying Spotify, cds and streaming more than ever before. Already an happy owner for 3 years and still no need to change :)

maybe when I feel flush I would consider beolab 20 or 5 , but most likely I will keep what I have and just enjoy the music

It has to be the new toy...The Devialet 200. That is of course when it works with the totally awesome but not so stable AIR.

I cant ever remember a piece of kit having this effect on me. The test will be lets say in a years time if I am still blown away.

I find USB, to my ears, sounds slightly better on my Dev200 anyway!

They're all equally important.

I guess thats how it should be in a well balanced system.

+1

Bluesound Node | Technics SL1210 | Naim SuperNait | PMC FB1i

Woops, did I miss something Wilro? Where's the 390 gone?

You got me! I had the SN originally, but talked myself into getting the NAD as it seemed to offer more of an all in one solution, i.e. less boxes.

It didn't work out though. The NAD is a great amp but I prefer the Naim.

It's hard to tell unless you listen to all the separate components in other systems, but for me I think it's my mains cable, closely followed by my speaker cables and isolation platforms

Above the B&W CM1s (original series), Cyrus 8a, Sonos Connect and Pro-Ject Debut Carbon MSL, I'd have to say the PSX-R. The Cyrus 8a is fantastic on it's own, but the PSX-R just takes it to another level, even after I consider the CM1 to be one of the best pound-for-pound speakers BMW have ever made.

I'd say every part of my system carries equal importance and I'd struggle to pick out one component as the lone 'star'. Each component is excellent and they compliment each other and work together beautifully to produce a coherent, immersive and involving sound. This is to the point where I daren't change anything, quite apart from the fact that I'd have to spend way more than I could afford to remotely make any worthwhile improvement on any part of my set-up.

I dont think Matt have listened to a good source with the MF AMS35i..? like the Electro EMC 1up?

Hi Iceman,

if you mean this 'Matt', I demoed the AMS351 with the MF AMSCD and the AR CD5. I don't know how they compare with the EMC 1UP, but I'd be surprised if they're inferior. *drinks*

change your mind about that.

If you had a listen to the leema/moon/marantz setup, you may just think differently.

The leema and moon were real bargains, 2nd hand but absolutely perfect. The performance is astounding.
